I think it is due in part to misplaced disgust with a few groups who come here to abuse their new nationality.
Voted : Xenophobia is on the rise in America.
I see it everyday here in Atlanta. I went down to Grady Hospital downtown for a check-up a few months back, and the cashier at the clinic I was at was harassing an Hispanic couple who were trying to settle their bill, speaking to them as thought they were subhuman and would be looking for welfare to pay the bill. If the woman had been intelligent enough to understand the Hispanic wife's English (which, BTB, was better than her own), she would've grasped that the husband had a pocketful of twenties, adn was ready to pay in *cash*. One more time, let's give it up for *humanity*! (crickets chirping)

Illegal immigration is greater than before in recent years, and so is opposition to it.

It's been on the rise since Bush screwed up international good will after 9/11 by starting a bogus war based on lies.

Yes, and yes. When you give free perks to invaders rather than taking care of your own, this is bound to happen. If I came here right off the boat, I would have gotten half-off my college tuition.
Voted : The immigration policy has some errors which I believe can be corrected by...
Enforcing deportation of Illegals.
