How strong is that bond, can it withstand your adult child or loved one being a cold-blooded murderer or child molester? I don’t have kids, but I have family members that I love unconditionally, but I wonder if that would include one of them doing those things said above, right now when I look at this hypothetically I can say no, I would not stop loving, although I would have serious problems trying to understand what went wrong and how they could do such acts. If it actually happened, I might react differently and never want to see them again, maybe this is one of those things that you have to experience before you would actually know what you would do or feel.
