WHAT WOULD YOU CHILD OR OTHER LOVED ONE HAVE TO DO TO CAUSE YOU TO STOP LOV

If anything?

How strong is that bond, can it withstand your adult child or loved one being a cold-blooded murderer or child molester?

I don’t have kids, but I have family members that I love unconditionally, but I wonder if that would include one of them doing those things said above, right now when I look at this hypothetically I can say no, I would not stop loving, although I would have serious problems trying to understand what went wrong and how they could do such acts.

If it actually happened, I might react differently and never want to see them again, maybe this is one of those things that you have to experience before you would actually know what you would do or feel.

Also, even if you knew they were guilty, would you help financially, hire the best defense team, to make a jury believe he or she is innocent?

What do you think?

I would not stop loving them and would visit them in prison
I would not stop loving, but could never speak to them again
I would stop loving
Will answer all questions below
Even if I knew they were guilty, I would hire best defense to make jury believe innocence

Again, as Exhibit One, I ffer the Insane Sister.

To date, she's done a few minor criminal acts (never been charged for them, because none have been reported, to the best of my knowledge). I love her dearly, but I don't like the human being she is, by any means. I couldn't bear to be around her, were she to commit a crime serious enough to have charges brought against her. I wouldn't be able to help with a defense financially, because I'm just scraping by myself. But wouldn't have to, odds are. Our mother would gladly take multiple mortgages out for her.

i don't think it would be possible to stop loving my children -- other family members, well maybe. but not my children. I would offer them whatever support i could. I would not try to prove they were innocent if they were in fact guilty however

I don't think you can just turn off your love, but you CAN stop their ability to inflict pain upon you. It sometimes comes down to a case of emotional survival -- yours or theirs.
