THE RULES FOR FINE DINING

[+] ballot by RunsWithScissors

So you've been invited to a formal dinner party. What are some of the things that you should or shouldn't do?

Which one of these are you most guilty of doing?

The fork is not a scoop, do not use it like one
Do not gulp your wine. It's impolite to become drunk in front of the other guests
It's never acceptable to tuck your napkin in to the front of your shirt or dress
Don’t treat the servers badly. It makes you look common
Do not pick up any cutlery that you drop to the floor
It is never acceptable to drink your soup from the bowl
Don’t eat chicken or chops with your fingers
Don’t point with your cutlery
Do not salt your meal before you have tasted it; it's an insult to your hostess
Don’t overstay your welcome
Don't ask for a doggie bag.
All of the above!
When passing wind, do not lean to one side and make the face.

Voted : Don’t point with your cutlery
I see this on TV a lot. Supposedly rich people at fancy restaurants.

^ oops, I don't do it, though! Note to self: read descriptions more thoroughly.

Don't "sample" other people's meal. That annoys the hell out of me.

At a restuarant, I don't like the idea of taking food home. I am there simply for the experience of dining in that place. I don't want leave burdened with anything.

At a formal dinner, this would be such a hoprrific faux pas.

Rember to start with the silverware from the outside and work your way toward the plate.
