HOW FAR HAVE YOU DRIVEN ON A SINGLE ROAD TRIP!

ROAD TRIP! Am I the only one in his middle age still excited by these words? My mama used to say of my personality that my middle name should have been "gotta go..." I think it's an inherited biological personality trait. Anyway, even before they were paying me for it, I drove from one coast of North America to the other. If it was possible, I'd drive backroads all the way from the coast of Portugal to the coast of China, given the chance. I get a chub on for long Road Trips; am I the only one?

I'd rather have all my teeth extracted without anaesthetic.
I'd do it; but, only if I was forced to.
I'd not want to make it a marathon. If you gave me a reasonable amount of time...
Once in a lifetime would be enough for me, but it would be fun!
I'm like you, always up for a road trip!
You must be part gypsy.

COMMENTS:
This ballot was inspired by LCD's ballot about how far you would travel by road rather than fly. I prefer road trips... but, I have no qualms with flying.

Sorry, I got away from the question when I was writing choices. I get really excited when I talk of this!

Voted : I'm like you, always up for a road trip!
New York To Las Vegas with my Dad and Sister when I was 9. I guess this set the stage for my loving this method of travel.
Las vegas to New Jersey with my boyfriend and back again (coming back, we made a 400 mile detour just so we could go to his favorite pizza joint in Nebraska)
and we would do it again.

fmn, I know we're not alone; but, people like us are not in the majority, I think. For most folks, the ROAD is an avenue for reaching your destination... For me, (and maybe you, too?) the ROAD IS A DESTINATION! Man, oh man, do I love a good ROAD TRIP!

Meeting people along the way... flirting with the corn fed (chubby) young chicks (and a few skinny minnies, too!) who clerk in convenience stores and all night truckstops across America! What a hoot!

I love road trips. Infact I'm going on one next weekend from Corpus Christi to Cleveland and I'm stopping in Cincinnati for some Skyline Chili!

Let's have some statistics here, people! NUMBERS, please.

The furthest I drove in one day was about 700 miles. Given that I live in (and never leave) the UK, that's not too bad. The UK isn't all that much longer than 700 miles (actually it's about 1000 and my 700 was 350 there and 350 back again).

I love road trips but not if they're too far! Just depends on what and where we're going

Voted : I'd do it; but, only if I was forced to.
Around 700 miles, in the back seat while my parents who were hatin' on each other up front. Not an experience I can even think of without feeling nauseated.
