No sense in that since they'll all be slaves soon anyway, regardless of their race.
^ i'm the real dubya and i did not approve that message. see, i'm the decider on who is a slave and who ain't. me. i decider. the decider is me. i decide. not you. me. i'm the decider-in-chief.

I don't think that *any* country should have to pay. Consider the cost... I'm sure that one or two of my Black ancestors had to spend most of their lives in cotton fields. Suppose I decided that I wanted my cut? Not much, say half-a-percent of the gross. Of course, the cotton industry, not wanting the potential onslaught of lawsuits, will settle with me for a goodly amount, more than enough to make me go away and be happy on a glacier. And then a few million other people of color decide that they want a like amount. And then a few million more. And so on, and so on...next thing you know, the cotton industry has gone belly up. And I can make a similar case for farms. It's a death spiral of monumental proportions, IMO.

It's a shame that it happened.

As I understand it, Black African slave owners SOLD the slaves to the US. The descendants of those slave owners STILL own, buy and sell slaves. Since the ancestors of those Black slave owners accepted their price for the slaves, they are the ones who should pay reparations, if any are due.
It's not my fault they ended up being slaves...they had weapons, they could have fought it off but obviously they accepted it...but i guess the slave housing was better than the jungles of Africa! Have you seen the flying cockroaches???
Another thing i don't get is if we are supposed to pay reperations to African Americans that were enslaved and from Africa, why are we going to be giving black Americans money? They aren't enslaved and they certainly are'nt born in Africa?

If some groups had their way, all you crackas would be sold into slavery.
My family did not come to this country until way after salvery ended. Sorry that it happened, but I should not have to pay.

No,on many levels.Slavery was and is for a rich minority. All this talk of reparations is just talk because only those with absolute power receive reparations. It's good only for inducing a guilt trip on a majority, which it did on me until I figured out history books are just publications from other rich people.

None of my ancestors had slaves, so it really depends. Also, some countries, like Canada and Iceland, never had slavery, so they really shouldn't have to pay up...
