Call-me-Dave Cameron can rarely not shoot himself in the foot. It's an idiot idea from a 'trendy' fool
Actually, I think it has its merits. We are told about the harm of unhealthy lifestyles. We are told about the rewards we can give ourselves by adopting healthy lifestyles. But we are never presented with an outside reward, one given to us by someone else. Animals (humans included) respond very favorably to other-generated rewards. I think this could have a positive affect if not misapplied. The controllers of this system would have to make exceptions for those suffering from genetically predisposed conditions that mimic those caused by unhealthy lifestyles, etc., etc. The exceptions could bog down the whole thing. The application of this concept would have to very well orchestrated.

But, it is the only way free health care can survive. Simple economics will prevent some people - due to age, weight, existing health conditions, et c - getting health care. Who will decide if a 50-year-old diabetic can have a heart bypass ? Who will decide if a 65-year-old tennis playing non-diabetic gets the bypass ? Who gets the kidney ? Who gets preventative medicine ?
^ probably right. i for one don't like the plan either cuz there are always exceptions. and we all now bureaucrats can't handle exceptions. man, they're cut throat in the u.k. hmmm.
