Voted : No, and he didn't help install Bush
I thought he voted against the majority decision. Gore v. Bush was one of the few times the Rehnquist wing of the Court voted for the Equal Protection clause.
^ so explain. are you certain he voted against the decision? be more clear with your choice -- no he should not have resigned? do some research and find out if you're correct that he did not vote to install bush. maybe his thoughts of resignation were because he was so aghast at the decision? details man! details!
apparently he voted against the installation of bush -- Although appointed by a Republican president, and thus expected to be conservative (see Segal-Cover score), he is usually associated with the liberal wing of the Court. He dissented from the conservative majority in Bush v. Gore election of 2000. so he i guess his thoughts of resigning because he felt so strongly that the court made the wrong decision?
^Probably. I think he went along with the Equal Protection argument at first, but voted against stopping the recount.
^ sounds like he's done alot of second guessing about the whole thing. i also imagine that if he even thought of resigning, it must have been a pretty bad situation among the justices.
