mojo, I'M *ON* Option #3.
I hear this dislikin' family thing on here all the time, but the concept is alien to me.
I have a very, very big family and we all enjoy each others company very much. Our mother, whatever her faults ever where, is respected, cherished, loved and looked after, just as it should be.
I consider all my brothers as the very best of friends one could have. We all look out for each other (Inc money, any business deals we can include each other in, we do)AND have always fought each others battles, as brothers should. Someone wants to battle one of us, they battle us all. Though because of our history this doesn't happen often these days :o)
Don't get me wrong, we've all had our arguments and fights, but the other family members always make sure whoever's in the wrong knows it, then everyone makes up.
Our Mam always said, 'there's only one thing you can count on in this life and that's each other'. This is something I'm also teaching my kids.
DON'T deal with 'em.
Britvic, you don't know how lucky you are. My husband's family is like yours. Zero 'dysfunctionality'. Unfortunately, I don't know many people who can say the same.
I envy you.
