HAS THE U.S. GOVERNMENT BEEN SEIZED BY CORPORATIONS?

When Hitler designed his totalitarian economic model he decided that large corporations would be seized and run by the German government while small businesses would be left to compete with each other. This idea was unique but not new. All fascist governments must control industry otherwise repression of the populace cannot be ensured. Mussolini put it clearly when he said, "Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power."
In my opinion, the lobbyists have allowed companies to bribe favors out of our political leaders. This has resulted in the worst economic conditions for the average American since Herbert Hoover. This is a brave new world we live in, corporations are run like fascist nations not democracies. If a company seizes our government they will not care about the opinion of the people they exploit. No matter how corporatism is instituted it always has the same result and I think the only real way to correct this problem is by not voting for candidates that take large contributions from major companies. It's that simple.

I don't know how to break this to you, but Multi-national corporations seized all governments a long time ago! It's not just the U.S government, it's ALL governments.

The top 10 U.S corporations have a combined revenue of $2 Trillion.

Or, another way to look at it, the top 10 U.S corporations combined would equate to being the 7th largest economy in the world:

1 United States 13,744,550
2 Japan 4,567,459
3 Germany 2,897,032
4 China 2,430,113
5 United Kingdom 2,373,685
6 France 2,131,631
7 Italy 1,752,585
8 Canada 1,269,096

^ What the Wise Man said. Eisenhower knew it when he left the White House, ergo his now-legendary "military-industrial complex" speech.

Here's the other way to look at it: In the last 30 years, U.S. corporations have bought more foreign corporations than all foreign owned corporations have bought American corporations in the last 100 years.

The 500 largest global corporations had combined revenues of $18.9 trillion.

Of the U.S. Fortune 500 (170 U.S. companies are part of the Global 500), the combined revenue is $9.1 trillion, or roughly 50% of the entire Global 500.

"President Bush’s appointment of Henry M. Paulson as Treasury Secretary cements the administration’s commitment to placing policy-making posts in the hands of the Fortune 500. Paulson, who is chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs, has devoted his entire career to building wealth on Wall Street.

Total revenues for the U.S. Fortune 500 hit $9.1 trillion.

The U.S. Fortune 500 have doubled their economic clout in the last half century.

If the U.S Fortune 500 constituted a single nation, their economy would be the second largest in the world.

With profits of $712 billion, the U.S. Fortune 500 could purchase the entire annual economic output of South Korea, India or Brazil, or absorb the entire U.S. budget deficit.
