I think that the WTC was the target, not the United States. That part was like a bonus. If the WTC had been in Canada it still would have happened. This was the second attack at the same location.

If the terrorists wanted simply to kill Americans they could have picked much more dramatic locations. Fly a plane into Yankee stadium on game day and youll kill a hell of a lot more Americans than in the WTC. Super Bowl Sunday you could kill 100,000 on NATIONAL TV. Now that would be terror.

from day one- they started a "holy war" by taking down the "World Trade" center belonging to the biggest richest most powerful govt. the world's ever had. They didn't die in vain either, we all did just what we were supposed to do :p

I still think 9/11 was an inside job by the US government to create public sympathy with a war on Afghanistan / Iraq / Iran / Islam in general / North Korea. The 'axis of evil' i.e. those exact same countries that had decided to use Euros instead of dollars as their international currency. And oooh lots of oil too. Double whammy, except it didn't quite work like that....
