Voted : Same as it is now
Same as it is now, I think. People have been obsessed with writing about the end times and dystopian societies every since people could write. And before that, it was oral traditions. Likewise, people have also been thrilled with the thought of new advancements and wonder. Every generation has their version of destruction and gloom and progress and fantasy, usually based on popular/unpopular ideologies and schools of thought of the time.

Voted : Virtual reality
^ I do, mojo! And I'd like to see more time-travel stories than are out there. I'm seeing a lot of it in the books I browse when I'm at Borders. And ^ I'm not happy with it, or the general direction of the genre. There's too much *nothing* in it for me. Little or no plot or substance. Seeing it makes me write all the harder.
^ GOOD!

Voted : Farming
In this ever increasing ant farm of technology, impersonal gizmos and worship of the almighty dollar, I think the ultimate escapist fantasy would be to get away from the rat race and enjoy what nature has to offer while it's still here. Even Captain Kirk liked to take time off and retire to his ranch once in a while.
