Voted : I use the auto cruise mode on long trips
That way, when Jophnny Law pulls me for doing 105 in a 65, I can say "The car did it! You know the machines are taking over." Works fine, but only if you live south of the Mason-Dixon...
^ And that's "Johnny Law". Truth needs more glasses...

Voted : I never use cruise control
Currently, never. When I lived in a different location and often traveled alot, I did sometimes on long stretches. I travel long stretches now just going to town from my home, but due to possibility of wildlife big enough to total my car running out in the road, I want to be able to slow down, move over, or stop as quick as I can. A little safety tip for those who do use it: Never use it in the rain. If you start to hydroplane, the car's cruise control system is fooled into thinking it's not going as fast as it really is. As a result, it will do it's job to maintain the speed that it's supposed to be going. The effect will be much the same as if you step hard on the gas while you're sliding on ice. It doesnt have to be a major hydroplaning either. Most cars do hydroplane a small bit when on wet roads. It's so small that most drivers don't even notice. But if you have cruise control on, a small hydroplane can become much worse. I got called out on an accident just six months ago that was due to hydroplaning with the cruise control on. She spun into a ditch and only had minor injuries, thankfully. She was lucky though.. after looking at her tracks in the roadside, she came about one foot from hitting a pine tree that was over three feet in diameter.
