Voted : Bruce Springsteen
I always thought "Born in the USA" was just another cornball pop song until I read the lyrics. I never was really a fan of him back when he was dancing on stage with Courtney Cox, but that "Seeger Sessions" album last year and now "Magic" have changed my mind. I've heard some of John Fogerty's "Revival" and Neil Young's "Chrome Dreams II" and am also impressed. I don't care how long the Rolling Stones stick around, I still think they suck.
Voted : Leonard Cohen
Thanks to light, again.
Yea, I thought the same thing about BORN IN THE USA until I heard the acoustic version--great song, powerful lyrics.
^^ Bruce is performing tonight at Mellon Arena. Guess what show I have tickets for? If you guessed They Might Be Giants at Mr. Small's Theater tomorrow, you'd be right.
I never got the whole strung out imagery of Waters and Gilmore, but now at the age of 39 I'm finally ready for Floyd..
...which is depressing because their music appealled to the teen demographic of the early seventies :0
