but seriously though, I have seen people scratching the hell out of my door, when parking in a tight spaces.
When I did have an expensive car, long time ago, I admit I always took up 2 spaces to prevent some idiot from scratching up my car. But I would make it a point to park in an area where there are plenty of spaces, far far away from the door of the business, so as not to inconvience anyone.

It's understandable to take two spots with a larger vehicle if it's not towards the front of the lot. The 'shbag I saw was right in front of a crowded restaurant, so I figured, hey for $200 grand, you can afford the body work.
