As you all know, I'm down with children's rights. So things like spanking, abortion, and shaking of babies don't sit too well with me.

But child molesters, I think they should be executed. So much so that I would be willing to support a law which would make it legal for ordinary citizens to kill convicted child sex offenders in public. I know it's a weird thing for a left-wing liberal like me to say, but damn it, we need to show child molesters that we're serious about preventing child molestation and in the believe that child molesters don't deserve to live...

Execute them, fine. But I don't think it should be public, no.

There was someone convicted recently somewhere in my vicinity of raping a mentally retarded child, while out on parole/probation for sexual assault on a 4 year old I believe. Disgusting. And then there are the scum bags who rape helpless elderly women and then steal from them. There was a small rash of those at the city I used to live in, targeted at the elderly section of the govenment housing a few blocks down. The guy would beat them, rape them, and ransack their apartment for money or valuables. It was sickening. I just don't see what good society serves by putting up with people like that for the rest of their lives.

and suppose a day after execution you find out that he was innocent of those charges? then can we execute the executors and the jury for murder?

from a logical standpoint, something that is wrong does not become more wrong depending on the age of the victim, and death is not a punishment. rapists and murderers should receive life sentences. and i mean that, sentenced to life. strapped to a bed on life support until they're 150 years old.
