Voted : But you are not homeless LCD
But you're not at all homeless LCD. The people I see in NYC everyday that are classified as homeless, truly are. They have NOTHING. No food. No drink. No clothes. Nothing at all. No place to go, no one to call, no one to call them, no phone...nothing. There is a huge difference. Sure, people see "homeless people" in most major cities, but in NYC, you see them all over the place. Wondering around with their shopping carts filled with junk, often looking despondent and lost. That is homeless. You have a bust that you CHOSE to make your home. No comparison in my humble opinion.
Sorry, forgot to answer the question: No, I do not look down on the truly homeless.
^true. very true. I did get a small sense of being "homeless" when I was in a sleeping bag, shivering in 50F temp near Oklahoma Panhandle, before the bed and the heater was installed. I am sure there are people in NY that has to deal with subzero temps. I feel for them.

It's true. There are countless patrols that go all over the city to offer any homeless person shelter, food, medical care and personal hygene facilities. But sadly, very many are either mentally ill or addicted to drugs or alcahol. Don't quote me on this, but I believe that the law is, if it is a certain temperature, they cannot force them to go, but if it falls below a certain temperature, then they take them regardless. I used to have a hard time with that, thinking that they were being forced to go to a shelter, but now I realize that it is to make sure they live. Don't get me wrong, I have been accosted by homeless people...some of them can be very agressive. But for the most part, it is very heart-wrenching to see them all alone...especially around the holiday's. By the way, in some ways, I am jealous of you. It sounds like fun living in a bus. Can you drive it to different places? If I could, I would live in some kind of mobile home that would let me drive from Canada to Argentina. Now that would be very cool.
yep, I toured all the southern states, the southwest, and come spring, I will be going up to Dakotas and the Minnosota. I haven't gotten tired of it yet, although I haven't had that much time sleeping in it, since I have free hotel room most of the time.

No, I don't look down on them
How I treat homeless people depends on how they treat me or others. I don't understand the need for an opinion when it's understanding that really matters. They are people,it's that simple.

Your bus is your home. Yes, that counts.
Voted : But you are not homeless LCD
Homelessness is, oddly enough, something I can't fully explain, despite having been such twice in my life. A scary place, where nothing is certain from day-to-day, save for uncertainty. Not a good place. During my two stretches, I would've killed to have had a bus.
You might be lucky to live on a bus.

'You have a bust that you CHOSE to make your home' Lol, he was trying to make her bust his home that night! ;oP 'next thing you know, she excuses herself, and avoided me for a duration of the party.' I wouldn't say she was looking down on you. Homelessness is usually associated with sleeping under the stars in all weathers and soggy cardboard boxes. I don't suppose she wanted to get her ass wet, not by you anyhow, lol.

. . . except for rich fucks that tell me they can't pay me for services rendered coz money is tight, then go on to talk about how hard it is to find good maid service these days, and how first class flights ain't what they used to be. Homeless people are the noblest of souls by comparison.

In your case, I envy you, living on a bus...
Voted : No one should be homeless if they've rather not be
Most homeless would probably rather have a home, most likely a permanent home. Most should also probably have some kind of employment, a practical and worthwhile structuring of time. Though some people might be unable to work, physically or 'emotionally'? It's too bad that Everything depends on 'Money', if you don't have it you can't have what you need, food, shelter, basic needs, anything. Some people probably do sort of 'look down' on 'the homeless', equating them possibly with 'bums, worthless, lazy, vagrants', or the like. But each homeless person has their own story, events, circumstances, problems. Stopgas measures help, but not enough. What do they do in other countries, does anyone have better answers?
Voted : I try not to look down on ayone
No, never. Unless you know the underlying story of why they are homeless, you're just jumping to conclusions...and making assumptions...that sort of thing is beneath me... (comedy relief)

AND - you are not truly homeless AND - you're just talking to the wrong woman LCD! I certainly wouldn't avoid you - but you had to go and throw that attractive part in there.
^ anyone who has seen a photo of this woman knows that she is being self-effacing.
