Tina exaggerated his behavior to get sympathy. She played the victim part to the hilt. If he was so bad where are all the other women claiming he was bad to them too? Ok so he took drugs. Duh who in the music biz hasn't. Ok he hit her sometimes. She never needed medical treatment or hospitalization. And it was only a couple times during a 20 year releationshsip. What did whe expect Perfection? Boo Hoo Hoo. He hasn't been with Tina for 35 years so where's all the bad stuff he did after they spit up? Other than getting busted for drugs, there isn't anything. Her book and the movie took a couple of bad acts and decisions and used it to completely ruin his reputation. Nobody is perfect Tina, NOT EVEN YOU!

Many people don't realize the influence his 50s works had.

I think the press blew it out of proportion. were all capable of stupid acts. we just dont usually have the power to let everyone know. I doubt him dying and people being happy is a healthy thing. would you wish a man dead because he hit his wife? What if he was mentally dysfunctional at the time? im not making excuses. but wishing someone dead should be left to the likes of pol pot or that twat on zimbabwe mugabi. (rant mode off)
and george bush and tony f&cking blair

He was a true musical pioneer but also kind of a dick. I didn't touch her! I wasn't even there! Everybody's always trying to blame Ike! Ike never did nothing! Come on, baby! We can do it again! We can be the best! Ain't nobody gonna stop us!

In respone to Grapost's comments: "Tina exaggerated his behavior to get sympathy. She played the victim part to the hilt." I think she was just trying to bring awareness to domestic violence, but this could be a valid point... "If he was so bad where are all the other women claiming he was bad to them too?" It's very possible they were afraid to say anything...battered women most frequently are. Before Tina, domestic abuse was virtually unheard of, not because it wasn't happening...my mom didn't say anything about my dad for almost 20 years...and there were NEVER any charges... "Ok so he took drugs. Duh who in the music biz hasn't." Let's see: Celine Dion, Michael W. Smith, and Tony Bennett, perhaps? But I don't believe most people have a problem with an artist taking drugs. "Ok he hit her sometimes. She never needed medical treatment or hospitalization. And it was only a couple times during a 20 year releationshsip. What did whe expect Perfection?" So you're saying it's okay for a man to hit his wife even once? That not doing so is Perfection? "He hasn't been with Tina for 35 years so where's all the bad stuff he did after they spit up? Other than getting busted for drugs, there isn't anything." I don't know. Maybe he learned to control his temper eventually. The other thing you have to factor is that the majority of times, charges are never filed, and Ike Turner fell out of the spotlight enough after the last 35 years that the media pretty much left him alone. I just hope he learns his lesson for his next life and isn't such a d*ck.
