As of late anyways. I was sane once a long time ago but since I am thinking more crazy doing my work/hobby and dealing with more screw-ups by family well you see what happens lMAO.

i think my sense of humor rubs a some the wrong way and my days are numbered because of it. so be it. but the way i see it, for me this site was very therapeutic at a time when i had just emerged from a very serious health crisis.
hell, for those that don't know, i don't mind exposing a very private part of my life.
i made some very serious mistakes when i was in undergrad about 3 years ago. me and some friends were messing around with stuff we shouldn't have and long story short, at a party one night i overdosed -- actually in technical terms i didn't, but each body has it's own limits.
the last thing i remember is being lifted onto a bed in the emergeny room and then, waking up. i had no idea when it was or where i was, but let's just say, it was a couple of months later.
i had fairly serious brain damage -- most of it not permanent. when being rehabiliated, i was introduced to this site and for me it was a way to just act as serious as i wanted or as goofy as i wanted and it was a way to see almost an immediate response to what i wrote or other people wrote. basically it was a good way for me to self-stimulate my brain.
so there you have it -- obviously my sense of humor is not for all people but i'd like to think most people see it for what it is.

Most people at work think the things I have to say are weird--although I think what I have to say is just regular stuff. I long so to share with people who respond to me, rather than stare at me blankly, like they do at work. At B&W I can post things, even unpopular ideas, and people give me back answers that tell me they are aware.
^ that's very touching. and i mean that sincerely. yeah i think for me once i got using the site a bit what appealed to me was that i could think if i wanted to on more serious ballots or just be kind of zany on others. the humorous ballots and "goofy" ballots appeal to me most. but that's just me. one guy used to freak out on me and call me dumb and worse but now he and i are more than cool with each other because i think he saw that there was more than one type of user on here.

At one time I thought it was to be serious, but then I quickly realized that nothing ever got solved and the more serious people got, the more heated things became. Now I like the fact that there are as many humor ballots as there are serious and it's a good mix. As for sense of humor, it's better to just not joke around with people who don't have a sense of humor, or who are not the type to relax, etc. It's also hard when communicating through written word, since it's not always easy to accurately portray the true tone, etc.
