No one has a right to enlist or not enlist. Anyone can be refused, but the basic requirements for non-citizens according to usmilitary dot about dot com are: (1) Entered the United States on a permanent residence visa or has an Alien Registration Receipt Card (INS Form 1-551/I-551 greencard or stamped I-94), and (2) Established a bona fide residence, and (3) Established a home of record in the United States.
^ I didn't think it sounded right, what he said in chatroom
Additionally, the enlisted non-citizen cannot become a commissioned or warrant officer. Good ballot, larrynelmira. You cause people to think and check facts.
but in reality, they will take you if you have a pulse. they are so desperate for recruits right now, the recruiting officer will pretty much look the other way, if you have 2 eyes and 4 limbs - at least that's what I heard in a chat room :)

Don't really know, but I do remember that several soldiers serving in Iraq weren't legal citizens.
As a past Service Academy member, I can say that any person who is a citizen of an allied power in good standing can attend a Service Academy, with a due appointment.
