WOULD YOU LET STRANGERS GO THROUGH YOUR HOUSE?

[+] ballot by larrynelmira
ACTIVE Wed Jan 02, 08 - Thu Jan 01, 09

A couple stopped by our house yesterday and said they used to live here and wanted to know if they could take a tour, I told them yes and they seemed to enjoy the reminiscing, but my when I told my dad about it, he was not happy, saying they could be mass murderers for all I knew.

I'm sure if he had met them he would feel differently, but what about you, would you allow such a tour?

Yes
No
Depends

If the people from whom I bought my house want to stop by and reminisce, I have no problem with that. I know who they are.

Anybody else better have a search warrent. 066

If they seemed like nice people. I'd keep the wallet out of sight, though.

Only family and those I know closely get in my door. I don't even let police officers in. (Had a neighborhood issue a few years back that brought them by.)

No way, unless I know them personally.

'Professional' thieves sometimes use little tricks like that to stake out homes to rob. It allows them so see who's living there and what kind of people they are (young, elderly, disabled, law enforcement, etc..), if there's any weapons there, any viscious dogs there, any alarm systems, and how many expensive items are in view.

There's been quite a few cases of temporary employees of contractors to use the opportunity to do the same.

^ Now I realize that, they looked like such a nice couple and they did know things that only someone who had been in the house before would know.
