SECRET SOCIEITES. ARE THEY REAL OR MADE OF CONSPIRACY THEORIES?

Are secret socities really what they are made out to be, or is it mostly fiction and conspircay theory?

I've read countless "accounts" of people who say that the world is run by power brokers in Europe and the United States. Mostly, those "accounts" hint toward a ruling body of families that includes mostly British, French, German and Americans of European descent. The Bildebergs stands out of the most secret of these socities and the Bush family is supposedly members. In all honesty, having been exposed to Financiers from Western Europe and the United States, I tend to believe there is some credibility to the "stories."

Can you please share any insight you have on Secret Socities and list them in the vote section, along with a detailed "account" of what that particular secret society is all about.

The Bilderbergs
The Illuminati
The Freemasons
Skull and bones
Bohemian Grove
Trilateral Commission

COMMENTS:
P.S., I would not rule out being a part of one of these Secret Socities one day. It could be cool. :)

Voted : Skull and bones
Skull and bones is apparently the secret society both George W. and Bush senior are associated with as well as former presidential candidate John Kerry. It is located around the campus of Yale university. I've never heard of Bush being associated with Bilderberg. I personally believe these secret societies do exist and have a major involvement with our national government. However I don't believe any of the documentations regarding any info on these secret societies to be true for if it really were secret they wouldn't be leaking out information through the media or books.

Thanks Warden! I did read a story and saw a picture that shows Bush Sr. and Jr. entering a meeting in San Fransisco a few years ago and it was reportedly the annual meeting of the Bilderbergs. Though to be perfectly frank, any Society, secret or otherwise, that has a Bush as a member, can't be all that great. :)

I felt compeled to add the U.S. Government...especially as of late...secret meetings with Oil producing companies, trade aggreements which hurt it's citizens unfairly, turning a blind eye on illegal entreants into the Country, "drunken sailor" spending of tax dollars on dubious undertakings, "carte blanc" spying on citizens with no clear oversight to ensure it's just, paying more to contractors than it woud cost to have work done by federal employees and lax oversight of same, just to name a few...oh, and failure to tell the truth on many occasions as to what is really going on...and this "group" is (probably) composed of many members (in key positions) of those same "secret societies" you have listed above...

Voted : Trilateral Commission
It's really difficult to keep a secret, although I'm sure some societies exist, but I think their influence isn't nearly as great as the conspiracy nuts believe.

Good points SoothSayer and thanks Skylab! I've heard of the Trilateral Commission. Do you know anything about them that you can share?
by patch22us on Thu Jan 03, 08 4:26pm [+]

Sort of a subgroup of the Council on Foreign Relations. Its mostly made up of ex-diplomats and others who have been in government or want to be.

Myself I sample the whole spectrum of news and occasionally the "conspiracy" stuff.

Isn't it simple logic to conclude that powerful conspire all the time and always have? What's more is that the media outlets are the property of the powerful, why *wouldn't* they spin the news, history?

I think the best you can do is sample ALL news and look for the trends, connect dots when you can.IMHO the most significant of relations and dealings remain unseen by the public,we only have dots and trends to work with but if you look enough with an open mind you'll see that things usually aren't what they are presented as.
