Yey! Spend, spend, spend! So "officially well off" means at least $10 million. Wow! Here is what I think you should do:
1. Buy a house with at least 5 bedrooms and at least 4 bathrooms.
2. Buy a Maybach
3. Buy a weekend house in a ritzy enclave...preferably one that is a gated community on the water.
4. Turn to any stranger and say with cockiness "Please. I could buy and sell you several times over."

I don't need a house with 5 bedrooms, 2/3 would more than suffice, if I even decide to buy one.
I don't need a maybach. I am more of a dually truck kind of a guy.
I don't need to associate with snooty bunch in a gated enclave.
as for #4, believe it or not, I used to act like that. Bad Karma. trust me :)

Well is it time to pull out or is it time to let it grow still?
If you think it will become a lot less soon then pull out but if it looks like growth is ahead then keep it.
If you pull out now I would not piss it away but invest even more and keep enough saved to keep yourself happy for at least fifteen years.

Maybach's are gaudy! But at least get a BMW or a Porche.
As for the Karma, you can buy it! :) Actually, on number 4 you're absolutely right. That is something Paris or Brandon would say.
And having bedrooms that no one even uses is almost a requirment. But, I see your point, so at least compromise and have a home with MINIMUM 4 bathrooms. Even 4 is teetering on the edge. Say...will you pay me to advise you? :)

Pixy sticks only cost about 20¢ each. Makes me wonder where all that money really went.
