There's a longer version that features teh fairy giving the bunny three chances to stop what he's doing or she'll turn him into a goon. Other versions feature gnomes and other creatures.

I thought it was bopping them on the head too, but recently I heard my friends kids singing the version with "kissing them on the head".

I guess it's the modern non-violence verison.

Yeah, that's the modern non-violent politically correct version. Seriously.

The entire original version is more of a lesson to not needlessly hurt animals. Seems to me the newer version might promote some some sort of zoonosis. lol
