Because it's my private conversations and emails, I talk to a lot of people from middle east through emails and instant messages, I often wondered if someone is looking over my shoulders, we even joke about it now, not that we say anything that could be considered treason, still, I don't like the idea.

Right. Look at tall the responses. So far, all are against it. Yet ironically and most disturbingly, look at the votes concerning the use of IMPLANTED TRACKING CHIPS in people! So you don't want the government to read your e-mails or see your phone records, BUT...you would be okay with that SAME government having the authority to IMPLANT a TRACKING chip under another HUMAN BEING'S skin? What!?

Just my opinion as to why the numbers might be so different

I know Larry, but prisoners are people too and ultimately, opening the door for one group of our species means without fail, someone will open it for another.
I think alot of people are okay with the plan in the other ballot because we live in a world dominated by White, Christian males. Change that and make it a world in which Islamic fundamentalist are in charge or in which Right-wing Christian conservatives are totally in command, and lets see the answers then. I hope I made my point clear with that analogy.
