the seat next to you, even though there are many vacant ones spread throughout?

This happened to me at the movies , I had a rare class free afternoon, so thought I would see a movie, the theatre was half empty and this man decides he wanted the seat next to me.

What would you do in such a situation?

I just thought that picture was kinda cool, has nothing to do with the ballot

I'd feel tense and I'd be mentally cursing that man for the rest of the movie.
I also hate it when it happens on a tram or train.

I figure that they either want to get closer to me, or they're a perv. If it's the former, then my personality will soon send them screaming. If it's the latter, I show them my patented seat-folding trick. I can only do it once with one person, but the message gets out quickly...
