WOULD YOU VOTE FOR JESUS?

[+] serious ballot by larrynelmira
ACTIVE Thu Jan 17, 08 - Fri Jan 16, 09

NO, RELAX, I'm not asking you to convert , although for the purpose of this ballot, I'm asking all of you, including those who don't believe, to pretty please PRETEND you do for me and this ballot.

If Jesus ran, would you vote for him?
I know there would be so many conflicts of interest, not sure if he could separate church from state, that is something I suppose he would have to declare on the campaign trail , it would be a bit of a dilemma for SOME religious conservatives, because I do believe Jesus would be for social programs.

Some may worry about his support for Israel, but I don't think he could support Israel anymore than past administrations have.

Abortions, I'm sure he would be against, not sure about the Gay marriage issue and wars? So many conflicting statements about that, especially from his father in the old deal.

Disasters of nature, that might be a thing of the past while he is in office.

Is this blasphemy ? perhaps, but I don't intend it to be, I also don't mean disrespect, just curiousity and I believe are valid questions as to how people would feel if Jesus ran for President.

I apologize if I offend anyone.

Yes, I would vote for Jesus
No, I don't believe he could separate Church from State
No, too many conflicts of interest
non decided
Only if he was a Unitarian
No, the country is already being run by someone from Israel
No, I don't vote for mythical figures
^^ Jesus DENIER!
I will never vote for a person that believes he's a descendant of a god

Voted : No, too many conflicts of interest
Great ballot.

I suppose that when the shit hits the fan and he says ‘God told me to do it,’ the claim would be far more substantial than other certain retarded politicians.

On the surface Jesus has every attribute I consider commendable in a politician, he would speak the truth, he would have integrity and most importantly of all he would be willing to sacrifice his own life for the sake of the people – characteristics that the overwhelming majority of politicians lack. I could vote for Jesus the man and philosopher, if it weren’t for the whole ‘God is my father’ thing. In my eyes, that just makes him fucking nuts; there are enough loony leaders in the world all ready.

Exactly for this reason, larry. And His Constituents wouldn't allow anyone to make the divide, either.

Voted : Yes, I would vote for Jesus
From my study of history surrounding Jesus and His teachings, I deduced that Jesus was more interested in relationships between people, than church organizations. His example was to give of Himself to improve the lives of others. I like that fact & that he wasn't swayed by popular opinion.

I really doubt Jesus could win an election in the U.S. because so many would oppose Him. Obviously, He'd have the atheists against Him, then the folks concerned about His ability to separate church & state, and I doubt the religious right of this day would have any more tolerance for Him than the religious right of Biblical times....remember that's who instigated His crucifiction.

At least he'd be honest. And therefore unelectable.

"No, I don't vote for mythical figures."

Uhh, whether he was God or not, nobody denies that Jesus existed.

That said, I think that I would, he wouldn't try to shove values down anyone's throat. I think he would keep church and state separate. Personally I'm under the impression that Jesus isn't too thrilled with organized religion anyway, or at least he doesn't care for it.
