I believe humankind can come out of it's segregated hole, and we can't save the planet now, we've done all we can to destroy it.
You don't know it now, but in a few hundred to thousand years we'll see effects.
There is a hole in our atmosphere, how long before that REALLY affects us?
We might be able to save the planet and bring endangered species numbers up if we unite.
In those sci-fi movies, everyone gets along, because they've taken comfort in knowing that the human race is in allegiance.

I tihnk that more communication betwene people will help, as in racialy diverce areas where people of different cultures and races actuly socialise tend to have few racists. Also, as long range communication and imegration increase in history, racism seems to becoem less common. Im not sure about 1 leader thou, not for a long time, it would be better to form a UN style concil to govern world affairs and manage space exploration, but still give countrys alot of free rain over how they govern there own territory, at least for the next 200 years, youd need to do it slowely...not that i hold out any hope for humanity, cocroaches will inherit the earth!

First off, i don't believe discrimiation can be eliminated, and nor do i think it should be (for now at least, whe it isn't nessesary anymore, it will be lost), it is a basic instinctual survival mechinisim. I have a lot of thoughts on this subject, but i'll focus on one, and that is the racisim in this country by our government. Our government (and society in general) gives more handouts more willingly to people of minorites, and that is not equality of race, therefore in a way, its racist.
oh yea, if our self-destructive nature allows us to live this long, we will all invariable have close to the same skin tone in the far or mabey not so far future.
Note that "racial mixing until we're all the same" isn't really an option. Genetics doesn't work by "blending" but rather is discrete. That is, two light-skinned parents can easily produce a dark-skinned child if the genes work out right. Example: Brazil.

I don't think world peace is an impossible dream, but it's not going to be an easy task. For starters, it will require that guys like Gagoonies, Grapost, etc., grow up and start seeing others as people instead of as "different." For some, unfortunately, that may be much more easily said than done.
It'll never happen. The world will always have idiots. All you can hope for is enough ignorance to not let it bother you.
