COMMENTS:
it might change a few opinions of what people in other countries think of Americans, but actions of Obama will determine what they think of our government. IMO
^although here is one comment I received from a friend in Tunisia after Iowa "congratulation for obama in Iowa hope it will change in US See you my friend"
^yes I know, one person does not a poll make
I agree with Larry that it will really depend on his actions and how he performs if elected. But on a broader level, hopefully it will change it for the better. Since we're a very ethnically diverse country, our government should reflect that. It does in the Congress, Senate and local levels, but having an "ethnic" President will be the ultimate achievement at that highest level of power. He seems like a very good person, so I'm hoping if he gets elected, his ability to build consensus will help us in international relations.
We should elect the best person for the job. That much being said, a bonus to electing Obama would be as a symbol that how you're born is less important than talent. I think Obama does have talent and intelligence as a politician.
Voted : A start...
...toward convincing the world that we are not, as a people, what this country's government as come to represent.
