I don't think a decision can be made based upon the ballot. It would be like saying "sure, let's just throw caution to the wind and hope for the best." I think the analogy you're making is a good one, but there are so many more variables at stake. Does this corporation have 300 million employees, all of varying ethnicities and economic backgrounds? Does this corporation have a vast military complex? Does it have very complicated and very delicate relations with other corporations and even countries that may require more than just talk to fix and maintain? Does this corporation have the ability to destroy the entire planent and every living thing on it hundreds of times over? My answer is that no, I would not necessarily just make him CEO just because he can motivate the workers. Motivate them how? Motivating people is easy...but it has to be the right motivation with the right course of action and the preparation for the various outcomes. Oprah Winfrey motivates people all the time, but would she make a good CEO of this "corporation?"
Voted : Sure, I'd risk it
Sure
You mean like Barack Obama?
I think he is making a comparison of situations to Barack. It's actually a really good analogy. The only thing I would add now is...didn't history tell us that Hitler rose to power so fast because he was an amazing motivational speaker? :) I know, there is no comparison. I'm just saying.
Typo:...On top of that it's starting to 'lose' money.Sorry, brain problem. FiddleFaddleOnLSD Barack Obama? Sorry, I can't make the connection. ;)
Voted : Hmmm...
Could this be a political analogy?

As opposed to rehiring someone who in the past instituted policies which now may be the cause of the company losing business and prestige ?
^No, no. You're trying to turn the company around.
Turning the company around makes sense, but just throwing caution to the wind and gambling that the guy with a dream who can motivate people is the right person just because, is not the answer. Now if the pool of candidates is limited and you have to chose one from the pool, that makes the decision easier. I'm not arguing with you, just posting counter points to consider.
What if the new guy has lots of ideas and could be the Great Communicator of of anti-Reaganism as well?
Voted : Sure, I'd risk it
IMO, I'd have no choice but to try it. You know, this is kind of like the sitch we're looking at in this election- oh. *Now* I get it!
"anti-Reaganism"... I *like* that, skylab.
Voted : I'd outsource everybody's jobs...
I'd make Mr. Charisma with a dream provide the smokescreen. Then I'd bankrupt the company but not before taking all of it's monetary assets to a personal slush fund set up in the Cayman Islands. That's the American way!
CI, country is bankrupt, Obama is great at giving speeches, but what experience does he have at running anything? Sometimes hiring an inspirational leader works, sometimes it fails miserably.
