Interesting question, and I've heard different opinions. I've heard it is best to stagger a lot of small meals through the day so you're pretty much always digesting something and your metabolism is always in gear. I've actually never heard of this neolitic meal style of yours, but it sounds a bit too animalian. It's been thousands of years since we have relied on hunting and gathering. I don't think it's relevant to consider the assumed customs of our cavemen relatives. I think the norm these days is actually more of the "eat when you can" schedule. We live by the clock. For example, I usually eat a mid-morning brunch, an early evening dinner, and a late night meal with snacks here and there. That's just what works for me and what is convenient with my schedule.
Voted : people should eat less frequently, and varying portion sizes
I don't do mealtime. I just eat all day long. Like here's what I have done so far today which I woke up today at 10:37 ET. Had five slices of pizza, Two Cadbury Eggs, some crackers(not people) with peanut butter, half a loaf of Garlic bread, and three bowls of Cocoa Puffs. Also about half of a two liter of Pepsi. I just grab and eat stuff all day long.
^Hey, those were my Cadbury Eggs you just ate!
Voted : people should eat regular meals
I have heard that FIVE or SIX meals (in smaller portions of course) is better for you than just eating THREE. I have not tried that. Maybe I should. I have heard it also called the 'Grazing Method'

It's what my doctor tells me, but what the frell does *he* know? I mean, just because I eat lousy...
We don't. Years ago I watched a documentary about lions and how they only eat when they're hungry. Have you ever seen a fat lion? We don't have a set meal time as such, we eat when we're hungry and we're all healthy and the right weight.
