COMMENTS:
I think principles come first but it doesn't necessarily mean end of the friendship, I just make it clear I don't approve.
^ then I suppose the ball is in their court, if they are angry because I disapprove, not much I can do about that
Voted : Principles
Friends whose actions conflict with yours will corrupt you. You are friends with someone because you like what he or she stands for. You don't just like them because they are there. You cannot be a friend without melding. If you hang around with smokers, don't be surpised when people think you smell like a smoker, too. And, umm...uh...well... It seems I've just run out of metaphors.
I've lost a few friends over the years due to conflicts between us. Maybe they changed or maybe it was just me.
I can separate issues and disagreements and still be friends with a person.
If it's a simple disagreement, then sure, I can still be friends with that person. But if that person's perspective on how people should be treated changes drastically for the worse, and if for some reason they start putting their own petty goals at the expense of the well-being and the feelings of others, then I can no longer be friends with that person.
I don't associate with those kinds of people. Never did and never will.
^^ understandable :)
