I've never met a person of color that supported affirmative action. There's a lot of pride at stake.

Knowing fully the shape of the world I live in, I still like to hope for a world in which the best, most qualified person gets the job.

No. I've seen what happens as a result.

Sadly, this practice is used in the education system. I have a close relative who got fed up with it and named it as one of the reaons for his early retirement. He was no longer allowed to hire who was most qualified for the job, but had to hire based on race in order to meet the school district's quota. He could care less what someone's color was if they had the experience and the education to do the job. But when it got to the point when he had to turn down degreed and experienced teachers to hire someone of a particular color, his conscious wouldn't allow it.

And it wasn't just the minorities that were affected. In a community with a "majority minority" population, there's times when he had to turn down blacks with doctorates and 20 years experience to hire some white 'kids' who happened to be fresh out of college.

Yes,the powers that be should push this as hard as you can.

In fact create more hate laws so overlapping that people can't do anything without being arrested. We need a full blown police state along with thought police.

Create a national "we are sorry for past aggressions" day.Demand all white people take some kind of associated pledge of shame for being white.Create an official version of everything from 9/11 to JFK assasination to the "the" Holocaustm, muck like what Canada and Much of Europe already has.

Push these things and more and don't stop pushing them.Just maybe by then people will have enough and tear the system down so we can start it over again.
