Voted : Sentence should reflect the life potential of the victim
Damnnnnnnn... that's a tough one. I feel like there is "the right answer" and then there's "my answer." I quite frankly don't give 2 shits if another coked up street walker gets killed, but a girl like this is a real shame. However, I must also consider that this bright college student could have just as easily been the transient under the bridge with 1 or 2 unlucky breaks in life. Tough call...
Voted : All murders should be sentenced equally
Tough call, but I'll go with this one.
Voted : All murders should be sentenced equally
A civil suit could be brought.
Voted : All murders should be sentenced equally
This particular perpetrator should get the same kind of recording deal that the rest of his colleagues have gotten.
Voted : All murders should be sentenced equally
Who's to judge the value of a life - potential or not. The transient under the bridge could very well save a drowning child, and the class president could become a corporate criminal, robbing thousands of people's life savings. It's like saying an American life is worth more than an Iraqi life. Or a black man is worth 3/5 of a white man.
Voted : All murders should be sentenced equally
Who is to say what the potential of the murder victim would have been? There are plenty of so-call high potential people that have been utter disasters and plenty of people many believed had no potential that have made a major difference in the world.
Voted : All murders should be sentenced equally
Because her life, as bright and full of potential as it was, is no more valued than that of that transient.
Who's to decide whose life is worth more than others? Besides, people who peak too early tend to burn out faster.
Voted : All murders should be sentenced equally
Murder is murder, no matter who it happens to. Value shouldn't be put on human life according to what or who they are.
