That mentality worked 'then'. Today, if someone invades my home to do harm, we will not hesitate to protect our family.
Voted : No
Once again, The Myth of the Gun... A lot of cemeteries are filled with people who believed that they could be Dirty Harry. Takes more than point-and-shoot lessons and a permit to provide an adequate defense. Trust the guy who has had the former in his time.
So, whoever has the bigger gun rules, then. Faster, bigger, more devastating. My hunting rifle isn't going to go very far against sub machine guns... I should upgrade... and why listen to "law and order", when I take care of myself with my own arsenal and private army...
^ I'm not saying I think this, those examples I made were the words of historian in the interview.
Voted : What the world needs now is love not more guns
Yee ha! If everyone in the world had nuclear weapons then we would have no war! What we would have is a lot more dead people which is exactly what would happen in this dumb ass historian's scenario.
I remember george Will once saidthat "a well armed society is a polite society." That makes sense intellectually, but not in the good old USA.
Voted : nope too many guns in the world as it is
Insane people and criminals shouldn't have guns. Neither should suicidal people. And those who live in safe areas should weigh the risk of gun accidents against a need to self defence. Forgot to log in the first time.
Voted : Yep, we'd have a rooten tooten gun totten safer world
Never heard of a shooting spree at a gun show, have you? Look at how good the ban on handguns has been for the citizens of D.C. sure that worked real good hasnt it?
