Voted : No, never did that
I would never ever have even thought of that. It doesn't seem sanitary, either. These chicks might have diseases and they poop.
Voted : No, never did that
In my family, the chicks wouldn't have survived past noon.
^ I know, if you lived on a farm I suppose it would be okay , but still, I have a problem with little kids not understanding how fragile baby chicks or baby animals of any kind are.
^ kids can be rough
Voted : No, never did that
Sounds like a bad idea.
Voted : Yes, I bought my kids live chicks
I've bought them chicks and ducklings, but not for Easter and not faddy, dyed, novelty ones. I've got quite a bit of land though and other animals (that you'd describe as farmyard animals)so that's ok for them. :o). I wouldn't have bought them if I lived in an apartment, that's just wrong and selfish. When I say bought, I didn't actually buy any of the animals. I took them all in from people who didn't want them or couldn't look after them. I hope those chicks are as lucky when their new owners realise how much crap they create when fully grown.
'I have a problem with little kids not understanding how fragile baby chicks or baby animals of any kind are.' You know, that's not really a problem if the kids are supervised and taught how to care for them properly. Or as in the case of my kids, just watch Daddy feed them and clear up their cack! :o)
^ yeah I suppose under supervision it's okay, apparently buying little chicks and rabbits for Easter gifts is something a lot of people do, even our local hardware store has them for sale.
