Earth Hour is an event to raise public awareness on climate change - at 8pm on Saturday, March 29, you are asked to turn off your lights for an hour. Last year, Sydney Australia pioneered this event and over 2 million participated, including over 2000 businesses. While it resulted in a 10% reduction in energy use, it really serves to raise public awareness and promote grass-root and local initiatives to reduce our individual carbon footprints.

I wonder if it will be similar to the Live Earth concerts when the lights come back on and the eco-hypocrites find themselves in a venue completely littered with plastic and styrofoam cups. 017

Why would I when instead of watching my energy use for an hour I do it all year long?

Plus my parents won't watch what they do so even if I did partake in this it would be ruined in minutes.

my bad. i thought we were supposed to turn on every light, dump chemicals into a river, shoot birds with a rifle and dump a barrel of oil into some pristine bay. damn. if i did it all wrong last year guess this year i better sit this one out.
