TIT-FOR-TAT WITH THE TSA... BOY, I FEEL SAFER ALREADY

In the latest round of homeland stupidity, a woman has complained that she was forced to remove a nipple ring with pliers in order to board an aircraft in Lubbock, Texas.
When the metal of the nipple rings set off the magnetometer and she was told she would have to remove them, rather than just showing them to a screener.
Mandi Hamlin has demanded a civil rights investigation as well as an apology over her treatment by America's Transportation Security Administration.
"I wouldn't wish this experience upon anyone," Ms Hamlin, 37, said. "My experience with TSA was a nightmare I had to endure. No one deserves to be treated this way." Ms Hamlin said she was trying to board a flight from Lubbock to Dallas. When a female TSA agent used a handheld detector that beeped in front of her.
One of the agents male colleagues said she would have to remove the body piercings.
She managed to remove one bar-shaped nipple piercing but had trouble with the second until given a pair of pliers.
She was then allowed to board although still wearing a belly button ring.

It's nearly seven years after 9/11, and the TSA is holding to the line that it is appropriate policy to make someone remove their body piercings to get on an airplane?

The Transportation Security Administration has officially changed their screening process regarding nipple rings.

Yesterday, they acknowledged that they may have gone too far by having a woman remove her nipple rings during a stop at airport security clearance in Lubbock, TX.

The TSA posted the following statement on their website: "TSA acknowledges that our procedures caused difficulty for the passenger involved and regrets the situation in which she found herself. We appreciate her raising awareness on this issue and we are changing the procedures to ensure that this does not happen again."

(Thank goodness! I know I can't sleep at night before a flight, thinking that a Heidi Klum look-alike with nipple rings might be seated next to me. What a nightmare!).

Hooray for nipples everywhere!

The conduct of TSA was cruel and unnecessary
The last time I checked... a nipple was not a dangerous weapon
The TSA was just doing there job
Generally the metal in jewelry does not set off the scanners
Yeah, I feel nippy just thinking about them

Voted : The TSA was just doing there job
They were probably just doing their job. By the book without thinking or making any judgments.

That's usually what you get when you hire 'rent-a-cops'.

Voted : The conduct of TSA was cruel and unnecessary
The belly button ring did not excite them, so they didn't care about it.
