The same people that gave Three-Six Mafia an Oscar award for a song about a pimp.

I haven't seen it yet, but plan to. I've got an odd taste in movies at times, so I've learned to never listen to movie critics or pay any attention to the Academy Awards. Very little of what I like is ever nominated or gets good reviews anyway. Seeing how it was nominated, it probably really does suck. Shame though, I sorta like Woody and Tommy Less Jones.
"Lee", that should be.
Voted : Yes I saw it, and it was ok.
Good movie. Ending was not so good. Casting Woody Harrelson was a mistake. 8/10
can someone tell me what was good about it? maybe I don't get it. I saw it because the previews made it look like an interesting movie. it wasn't. what am i missing?

I dunno LCD, I'm no critic, but when I watch something I know if I like it or not. Least I can say is that the villain (Javier's character) was very well acted. Brolin was a badass. The plot was pretty thin, but very original. The most important thing to me was that the movie was not very predictable. I hate when I'm watching a movie and know everything that's going to happen before it actually does.
Oh... the ending. Yuck. Don't end a movie on a dream metaphor. Especially a painfully cryptic one.
I did go into see the movie because of the villian. (someone mentioned that I looked like that guy, which made me curious - I got a haircut after I saw the movie) Coen movies invariably have a "unique" murder scenes, such as the woodchipper in Fargo, and the airgun in this one. take that away, and you have less of a plotline than "Saw" or "hostel", which have unique murder scenes too. I guess I was trying to read into a subplot or some deep meaning when there wasn't one. I agree, worst ending ever.

I felt the same way about Titanic. I did not see it until it came out on DVD. My wife and I got all snuggly to watch it. And we both thought it sucked. We could not figure out what all the hype was about, You know the people who said then seen it twenty times in the theaters, and so on...
Grumpy, You were right the first time, with *Less* I think he is a bit over rated as an actor. All his roles seem to be the same person, if you know what I mean?
