Voted : support the development of accountable governance
Best of all proffered options. Great ballot.
Voted : nothing, just leave and let them figure it out
everybody with a half a brain said that's a quagmire that we don't want to get involved in. now that we are there, we have the moral responsibility to the oppressed people of Afganistan. I say stop bribing the warlords so they don't get the $$ to buy more bullets, section off a small democratic "enterprise zone" either inside afganistan or in US, get the oppressed and the motivated, intellectuals and those who want to learn, and teach them how to survive in the global market, and use them as the rallying point for the rest of Afganistan. when they see their neighbors succeeding without weapons, they will put down their weapons and join them too.

It's easy for us to say they need to stand up for themselves and support an accountable government and everything will be just fine. These people live in fear for their lives and their families lives. It's hard to find a NATO lead conflict as under supported as this. Kosovo and Bosnia had 15 times the troop deployment. NATO countries don't want to get involved in Afghanistan. Maybe because it's not Europe, I don't know. One thing for sure is there will be no rebuilding unless the country is secure.
