And it seems the only way to talk to them is to explain every little detail to them.
Do you bother and hope they get it or say screw it?

I go all the way.
I go halfway and if they don't understand oh well.
I say what makes sense to me and either people get it or they don't.
I go none of the way, I don't speak Stupidese.
I go about 15%.
I stop when I see they don't get it.

Happens whenever I try and explain about computers to most of my mates. Thier eyes glaze over and you know theres no point explaining.... As you fix their machine for them....

good question. i think much depends on what type of relationship you do have or may have with that person. if you value that person you'll take the time. if not, you mostly likely won't.
