I think that if they're put in an environment where their learning experiences are enhanced by being given more opportunities to concentrate on stuff, it can do wonders for broadening their minds.

You think outside the square pretty well. But they would be open to abuse - give dodgies out there any opportunity at all and they will make bad use of it.

Reminds me of an article on Uncyclopedia... Smart kids that get easily distracted and/or have poor study habits often go to them instead of band camp or the other usual summer camps. So why not also send stupid people to them? It might help. :-)
