GOING BACK TO SCHOOL FOR CAREER CHANGE: WHEN IS IT TOO LATE?

[+] ballot by LCD

suppose you want a change of career, and for that you need more education.

assuming you have the money, when do you think would be too late to go back to school, and earn postgraduate degrees necessary for a career change?

think in terms of earning potential vs. time, not some intangible qualities such as feeling of personal accomplishment etc.

strictly based on $$ invested, and future earnings etc.

COMMENTS:
You're never too old to work on a degree. I went back about a year and a half ago after a serious injury a couple of years before that and I'm middle aged. And there are people at school a hell of a lot older than I am. When I went to apply for student loans I asked the lady how old the oldest person she had worked with was and she told me she had a man in his early 80s apply for student loans so he could go back to school and study computers. He got his loans too! Screw age. If you want it then go and get it. The only one who is going to stop you is you yourself.

sorry man i just made a similar ballot about my situation. didn't see yours. unless you're of retirment age it really isn't ever too late. if you're about to leave the workforce, why bother? in your case, i say go for it.
