Some people think that St George's day should be more of an event, like St Patick's day. Others say that England is just a Mongel nation with borrowed culture, and we have little to celebrate.

"Others say that England is just a Mongel nation with borrowed culture, and we have little to celebrate."

People actually say that? What culture has England borrowed? It seems to me that many other nations, including the United States, has borrowed culture from England.

Can you tell me what St. George's Day is about?

Voted : yes
I celebrate st pats day and im english. i dont tend to bother with st george. I think I should though.
After all its not where we came from but how we evolved our folklore that really matters.

Our heritage is important no matter how much others misinterpret it.

Make no mistake an icon like george sprang from a dogged tenacity to remain english.

Mongels bedemned. My Horse squire if you please!!

St george is the patron saint of england. He alledgedly slew a dragon amongst other things. But the key here os patron saint. A sickeningly religious label to ma mythical dragon slaying. but hey england, ireland and scotland have one and so does wales.

Basically quasi religious hocum wrapped around a need for a nationalistic identity.

Think uncle sam patch.
