COMMENTS:
"Senator Obama won't provide relief, while Senator McCain won't pay for it," Clinton said. "I'm the only candidate who will provide immediate relief at the pump, with a plan." yeah some plan. stupid bxxxx...

Voted : Yeah sure, every penny counts. I am voting for hilary.
No, LCD. She actually has a really good idea. She wants to pay for it with a windfall profits tax on the oil companies. Making those bastards pay for it is an excellent idea.
Obama has already stated those tax cuts to the oil companies will be history if he's elected... this is just another gimmick and really won't add up to any significant change or relief... anyone who can do basic math will see a few months of reduced oil prices at the pump (18 cent per gallon ?) is a pittance when you realize just how much the price has gone up already. And the last I saw on this subject today on the McCain proposal would be taking money away from the highway fund. Not good... it's interesting to note all of these "experienced" politicians were in their positions of power and influence while this entire problem was steadily growing and now, all of a sudden, they propose a "band-aid" (when surgery is needed) and some people leap for joy.
It does seem like a lame temporary fix. It's not even a fix really. I agree with TheSoothSayer. How did all of these supposed seasoned and powerful politicians NOT see this coming? It's not like high gas prices snuck up on them.
sooth, I'm quite sure you are supporting Obama but I will point out a couple of things. Getting rid of tax breaks for oil companies is HARDLY a new or unique proposal. It is a standard democratic policy position and has been for some time now. Hillary, or any other democrat would and will do the same. You talk about repealing tax breaks in the future. Why not start now and give normal people a tax cut and INCREASE them for oil companies. It is something he can help happen now as he is apparently a US senator. I'm not sure about you but I am not wealthy. I can't afford these gas prices. Saving 20 cents a gallon IS a big deal for me (and I drive a fuel efficient car). Its also politically stupid for him to oppose this when even McCain supports it. How is this going to help Obama with his poor working class problems?
Fiddle, Hillary has changed her position(s) on far too many issues and if you have did your "homework" as you claim to have done, you will note she has a history of promising ANYTHING to any given audience at any given time sprinkled with outright lies to get votes. And there's also the judgement issues which I suspect were more political than her personal views in her (I believe) pre-planned run (coronation ?) for the White House after Bush... if you look at my comments on ballot #124571 you will sense my feelings on the candidates so don't assume you know who I will be voting for, all politicians spin the truth, but I detest outright liars and phonies. From "Billary's" fund raising connections to the hypocritical statements coming out of this election, coupled with selective cable news promoting or omiting pertinent information. So many people don't realize news organizations can't tell you what to think, but they can tell you what to think about. They already "sold" us on the "cowboy" (fact ommision or a failure to verfy information) and I see it happening again...
Some people will sell their vote for a half of tank of gas...
"she has a history of promising ANYTHING to any given audience at any given time sprinkled with outright lies to get votes" And this makes her different from Obama how? He's done the same as I have posted on other ballots. I'm fully aware of her weaknesses and strengths. She's got a lot longer of a record than Obama. What's interesting is that most of the criticism you have lobbed at Hillary is really more criticism of Bill than it is her. As far as "oupled with selective cable news promoting or omiting pertinent information. So many people don't realize news organizations can't tell you what to think, but they can tell you what to think about. They already "sold" us on the "cowboy" (fact ommision or a failure to verfy information) and I see it happening again" The article is a word for word copy of what is posted on Factcheck.org I didn't sell my vote for a tank of gas. I voted a month ago. I also had initially thought Obama would be better. Then coupled with an examination of their policy proposals, record (Obama has none pretty much) and how well others could give me reasons to vote for their candidate, I decided to vote for her. It was about health care and the economy. Not gas prices.
Voted : The DNC and the GOP have screwed up this country enough. I'm voting Libertarian
...again. ...probably.
Voted : No, pathetic is what comes to mind, I am voting for obama.
It sounds like rhetoric to me. When is this gonna happen? I think NOW would be a good time. Not next January.
Voted : No, pathetic is what comes to mind, I am voting for obama.
Oh brother, there she goes blowing smoke up the arse's of the American people again with a full proof plan of tax relief, excuse me while I retrieve my eye balls that rolled back into my head, it will require the jaws of life to get them out from the back of my head on this latest hilLIARy to the rescue plan... This latest so call relief is another one of her LIARS or her attempts to go easy on the oil companies (one of her favorite compaign contributors)... And there is Fiddlefaker speaking up for his lying candidate, it amazes me when people continues to support the likes of this her and what is so bad about it, you have to be void of eye sight, deaf and dumb not to see her for what she really is... Her pathetic plan is a drop in the bucket for the American people, although I was quite impress that she propose such a moronic plan with a straight face, she still got it folks...
Hey LCD, why did Obama vote FOR Dick Cheney's energy bill in 2005. Remember that one? The one negotiated in secret... Guess who voted against it? Hillary.
Voted : Yeah sure, every penny counts. I am voting for hilary.
Lower gasoline expenses usually mean lower shipping fees/expenses. The government overtax the oil company too much anyway and the oil company just pass the expenses on to us anyway. The oil company spend their money more wisely than those in Congress. No wonder Congress is such as unpopular as Bush.--or more so.
