GOING TO CHINA TO SOURCE PRODUCT : TRADING WITH THE ENEMY?

[+] serious ballot by LCD

I know a company that's sending people and hiring consultants in china to source products.

Why do we allow companies to make deals in communist china?

back in the 80's, you couldn't even send a 386 cpu to Russia, and now, we are sending them specs and manufacturing techs to them, isn't that like cutting our heads and serving it to them on a silver plate?

it's trading with enemy, and it should be stopped.
it's trading with enemy, and they should be prosecuted.

COMMENTS:
cuz dick nixon, dick extrodinaire, decided to try an experiment. what people may not know is that the west decided to try a different approach with communist china. the cold war with russia was on going and cost a great deal so they tried engagement with china. one, to not get into a cold war and two, to counter-man russia.

lot of mixed concepts here.

Communism is, as far as im aware, a loose term at best. It's akin to saying the UK and Spain are christian countries.

Sending things to russia was impossible but it was never impossible to do this in china. the british had hong kong and although not a perfect arrangement it allowed trade between china and the world.

Did you ever wonder what happened to all that plastic crap that said " made in hong kong " written on it? well wonder no longer. now it sayd " made in china "

Not sure how the chinese could be seen as an enemy. Again, as far as i can see china has never been physically hostile to america or europe.

I can only see this whole deal as being beneficial to china as a whole and the world in general. tho to be fair its going to sting the american economy as more work gets outsourced.

Me personnaly I welcome anything that opens another country up to the world especislly one so rich in history and customs.
