I think Barack Obama is a good person. I think he's honest and he has a good personality. But, do I think he's ready to be President? I'm not sure. Hillary, despite what her detractors say, is a very wise and very capable person. As a Senator for New York, she's doing a great job. I think she's a better choice for President or, if the people decide Barack Obama is, then she's the very best choice for Vice President. If Barack Obama picks John Edwards as his running mate, that might turn me off to him for a few reasons.

Howdy Doody again as the VP candidate? No thanks. It will likely make me less willing to vote for Obama. Edwards has demonstrated a complete lack of the ability to carry a single state including his own, North Carolina which Kerry/Edwards lost by 12 points. He also has most of the same weaknesses that Obama has. Obama has weaknesses in these areas: 1. Working class white voters 2. Those without college degrees 3. Experience 4. Foreign policy 5. Perceived lack of cojones 6. Ability to carry any battleground state. 7. Would lead a badly divided party. Edwards adds nothing in those areas. Hillary on the other hand... 1. Arkansas would vote for Obama/Hillary 2. Ohio would go democratic (she leads in poll match-ups with McCain by 10 points with Obama neck and neck at best. 3. Would likely help democrats carry West Virginia 4. Has obvious strong support among women 5. Would shore up support for Obama in the battleground states. 6. Would do well in the traditional VP role of pit bull saying the stuff the Presidential candidate cannot. This allows Obama to stay above the fray (where he is more comfortable) and allows Hillary to be more on the attack (which she does well) 7. She has cojones 8. Having Bill Clinton wholeheartedly campaigning for you is a major benefit. 9. She has experience, foreign policy, economic - some of it radiated from Bill that helps solidify the ticket. 10. Choosing her would unify the party And lastly, choosing her would mean the B&Wers would stop bashing each other and bash McCain instead. It is possible that another candidate that is viewed as a strong supporter of Hillary would do well but Edwards would not. Richardson would antagonize Hillary supporters.
"Perceived lack of cojones " as opposed to bitch queen from hell? "Would lead a badly divided party. " so vote for Hilary or you will vote for McCain? hillary supporters have been disappointing me of late. your candidate is losing, face the fact, smell the roses, and get a clue.

Oh really. :) So when all of the Bush supporters said the very same thing, how did you feel and, how did you react? Fair is fair. I distinctly recall that on this very site, when Bush won his re-election, the reaction of his supporters was: "Bush won, get over it and deal with it." I remember there being many not so calm and not so nice reactions to that. :)
" as opposed to bitch queen from hell?" Utterly SEXIST comment. What do men with chauvinistic attitudes call a strong, decisive leader that is a woman... you guessed it "a bitch" "Would lead a badly divided party." so vote for Hilary or you will vote for McCain?" Huh? That is a statement of fact. Very few sane people would argue the democratic party is not divided. WHOEVER the nominee is has a responsibility to bring the party together. I never said I would vote for McCain. However, IF Obama is the nominee and makes a stupid choice I am FAR more likely to vote for Nader than McCain. "your candidate is losing" Winning the nomination and the election are two separate things. If Obama gets the nomination and doesn't bring the Hillary supporters back into the fold he will go down in a landslide defeat in the general election. Your current gloating now will be meaningless and mocked. Her supporters are part of the backbone of the democratic party and are absolutely necessary if the democrats hope to win. You Obama supporters have been disappointing me of late. You callously disregard the poor, those without college degrees and the working class. You state directly or implicitly that these voters are "stupid", "racist" and voting for a loser. It is that very judgmental self-righteous attitude that is responsible for the hostility that many Americans hold towards "liberals". They view "liberals" as looking down on them, treating them like they are stupid and helpless people that MUST have the help of "liberals" to make good decisions for them and their families. Face it LCD and other Obama supporters. Your candidate right now has these supporters ONLY: 1. African-Americans 2. Those with college degrees 3. Those making over 50k a year 4. College students. Basically exactly the same voters (and the only ones) who supported McGovern, Mondale, etc. You need the votes of those you look down on to win the presidential election. Really... I have NEVER voted for a republican for president and almost always vote a straight democratic ticket. The comments I see made by Obama supporters make me question whether I have been doing the right thing. These comments have been sexist, demeaning to the poor and working class and stereotypical to the extreme (West Virginians are racist). Jeez... I would expect that from conservatives but not so called "liberals". Really... the comments I read from many Obama supporters are extremely disappointing to this life-long democrat and liberal. You would think that you and others would be more concerned with keeping me in the party than in antagonizing me and using sexist terms in reference to a lady who is one of the leaders of the democratic party.
Obama is slipping in the polls now. With the economy being weak and having a President with a high unfavorable rating, why is Obama doing poorly? Also I feel that most 'undecided' voters are mccain or nader voter who do not want the racist label on them. I am assuming now that McCain will be our next President...good or bad news, that is yet to be known.
