yes. look at mexico. they still have $2.50 gas down there.

It isn't an either/or situation. More regulation (windfall profits, incentives or whatever for more refineries, etc) would be good. A takeover, no. The situation with Mexico isn't really relevant. Mexico does not have to import oil from many countries like the US does.
Voted : No, the US Gov. would ruin it.
We dont need another layer of bureaucrats not required to turn a profit running anything but we do need better oversight by "unbiased" Government workers to insure we are not getting fleeced. We need to put pressure on these oil pumping Countries to stop all this gouging. Everything exported to those Countries should have terrific tariffs to counterbalance the outrageous prices they are charging for oil...
If our own government would just let the oil company drill oil here, prices would go down. It is already proved that it is environmently safe already.

the govt can do it better if the people vote and stay educated in government affairs.
