Sincerity is the optimum word here.
And actions speak louder than words.

I accept it, but it means more to the person giving the apology than it does to me. This is because I rarely get upset at things people do. Often someone's apology surprises me because I did not know they did something that warranted an apology. The few kinds of things that piss me off (racist things) are usually the things someone would never apologize for.
