COMMENTS:
The point of that picture is that I don't believe a woman would vote for Rossane Barr just because she is a woman.
And yes I know SOME women do vote for that reason, same as Some elderly vote McCain , Some African American vote Obama and men vote men
Voted : I agree
It is insulting AND it is sexist. Apparently, it isn't ok for women to vote for women. It is ok for men to vote for men, military people to vote for those with military experience, those under 30 to vote for the younger candidate, African-Americans to vote for other African Americans, gays and lesbians to vote for other gays and lesbians but apparently women are somehow not so smart if they vote for another women. The attitude is patronizing, ignorant and once again - sexist. What is sad is that people are either just repeating what they here from others or they just do not understand their latent (or blatant) sexist attitudes.
Voted : I agree
I know my support for Hillary was based mostly on the fact that she was a woman.

Voted : I'll tell you below what I think
If your choice of who you will vote for is based solely (or primarily) on race, gender, or sex, it's apparent you aren't looking at anything objectively, but subjectively. If your choice is based on "name recognition" as the criteria on which you base your vote, That's your perogative also... but some people factor in a lot more than that when they vote. Superficial characteristics can be highly irrelevant when weighed against more important factors such as past histories, stances on important issues, flipflops considered, sincerity, whether or not you are insulting my intelligence with stupid proposals, whether or not, based on your ties you can implement the changes you are promising, or will really try to even if you fall short, how you run your campaign, your level of integrity based on my research and analysis, leadership qualities not based on family ties or past titles, how you react to political attacks or percieved attacks, whether you exhibit signs of instability in your day to day demeanor, and a host of other signs or traits which may make me feel you are the better person for the position.
Voted : I disagree
Voting for a candidate solely or primarily because that candidate belongs to a certain demographic is just as illogical as voting against a candidate for this reason. And I think that men were wrong to arbitrarily vote just for men, but two wrongs don't make a right.
Voted : I disagree
I agree with nuck and thesoothsayer.
^and I agree too but I don't see the criticism with the other groups, was the point of my ballot, also , I do believe women who are voting for the woman have other reasons than gender, as I said, I doubt many would vote for Rosanne Barr simply because she is woman. Don't people vote for those they feel will have similar views on policies and who they feel will serve them best? Give people respect is pretty much what I'm saying, just because someone supports another person don't assume they must be stupid, they feel just as strongly as the next toward their candidate.
I don't want McCain as president, but I don't run around bashing his supporters, does anyone really think doing that will change minds? Imagine if I came on here saying whoever votes for Obama must be stupid, I'd be run out of town, it would be an arrogant , rude thing to say.
I have said this before, here at B&W. When it comes to *Presidential Politics* it seems to be that the past few presidential elections the Cream Does Not Rise To The Top The candidates that I have wanted to sit in that office have not made it. Some have not made it through their own party. Since I was able to vote I have never picked a side based on Republican or Democrat or Conservative or Liberal. I chose Reagan back in the 80's (so did everybody else, mostly) I voted for George H.W. Bush for a second term. I vote for Clinton a second term. I thought Al Gore would have made a good choice. And I thought Howard Dean would have made a great choice. But here I am looking at the next few months and then the next four years and I say to myself who should I choose? I think McCain is politics as usual and Obama is not seasoned enough. But if I had to choose now. I think that my gut feeling would be Obama. I thought that Clinton's first time around, that he was too un-seasoned.
