Yeah!
I don't drive enough that I'm really feeling the effect
Voted : No, but I'm getting p*ssed *ff
Gas. I wish they would invent a methane powered car We would just fart into our gas tanks and we'd be off. Then BEANS would skyrocket in price. It's always something.

High gas prices will get people to think twice before they drive. People are too dependent on cars to get where they're going. Walk, it makes the Earth a cleaner place.

Not hurting my wallet any. I'm totally with Colin on this as well. If there's one thing that can drive people away their over-reliance on gasoline, it's fat pump prices.

I have a gas station by me that sells E-85 Ethanol. And the price of that has now gone up exponentially. WTF is with that? It's price gouging if you as me.

Not bitter, but a little perturbed. UncleRandy, the same has happened with hybrids. They've gone up 35% in price. Same with converted electric cars too. Someone I know just paid over 30,000 for a very basic Ford Ranger that's been converted to run on a lithium ion battery. She ordered it and paid over half for it last year, was promised it in January, didn't get it till mid March, and wasn't told until after she bought it that she's got to break in the battery before it will get the promised 200 miles on a charge. Right now, she's lucky if she can make the 30 mile round trip to town and has to call friends and relatives for a lift if she needs to go somewhere further. And when it runs out of juice, it's dead. No indicators, nor warning lights, nothing. And if you run it 'till it's dead, it wears out the battery quicker. She also got the truck because, living on a farm in a rural area, it's pretty much a necessity. They didn't tell her that the batteries are stored under the truck instead of the bed. This means that she's got about as much ground clearance now as the small Kia that I have. Then there's charging the battery. She has to turn off appliances and lights so it wont flip a breaker, and what she's saving in gas she's actually paying in electricity bills. Great concept, the electric vehicles. But I'm darn sure not going to jump on the bandwagon and get one until some major improvements are made on them.
^ That was me. I forgot to sign in.

The price seems to go up every goddamn day with no end in sight.

you should be. those who think that it's not going to affect them because they don't drive, or that it would curtail people driving etc, remember, the cost of EVERYTHING goes up because of this oil fiasco. when you go to the supermarket and all your foodstuff has suddenly double/triple the price, it will be because of the rising transportation cost.

I am in Grocery stores all day long. From major chains right down to the little Amish Stores. My company has had two price increases last year and a few downsizes (that's when they go down in quantity size but keep the same price). We just went through one on one line and another is set for mid July.
That's true, LCD. Gas prices are affecting everyone, whether they drive or not. And it's not just transport and freight costs that are driving things up. It's the cost to actually make the goods in the first place. Rising fuel prices generally mean rising electricity prices which will increase the cost of manufacturing. Then there's the tractors and combines used to harvest food.

I wish those environmental wackos would let the oil companies build refineries and drill right here in the USA. It is environmential safe.
Whether or not it affects us indirectly is irrelevant to my point. The fact remains, gas is for transport, be it people in cars or food in trucks. Both contribute to our over-reliance on gasoline.
